With the World Cup 2022 kicking off, some companies are releasing commemorative NFTs to celebrate the tournament. With these NFTs, the companies aim to immortalize some of the unforgettable moments of the World Cup.
Budweiser, FIFA, and Visa are the three big companies that have released NFTs and collections to celebrate World Cup 2022.
FIFA+ Collect is FIFA’s own platform for all official licensed NFTs that include content from FIFA tournaments. The platform is similar to NBA Top Shot. It includes legendary moments of football from past competitions. On top of these moments, there are also NFTs of art and imagery that has the footballers.
The platform has digital packs that you can purchase which then give you a random NFT that belongs to the collection of the pack. Iconic goals of football superstars Mbappe from the 2018 World Cup and Ronaldo Nazario’s goal from the 2002 World Cup are some examples.

Budverse x World Cup 2022
FIFA+ Collect’s own collections are not the only NFTs that are dropping. FIFA has teamed up with Budweiser, who are also known for their NFT and metaverse initiatives. A collection named Budverse collection has also been released.
A certain kind of animated NFT called the Live Scoreboard NFT is being released with this collection. These NFTs will be updated throughout the World Cup with the results of the country that they represent.
The Budverse collaboration brings the interesting idea of updating NFTs to life, paving the way for future projects.
On top of the NFT, Budweiser also gives physical items with the purchase of the NFTs. These items are trading cards, scarves, and color changing aluminum cups.
Visa held a charity auction to help children. In support of Street Children United, they created NFTs of famoıus goals from the likes of Tim Cahill and Michael Owen.
